Mississippi State may be best known for its Bulldogs, but Starkville is going all-in on a different kind of pup this spring: weenie dogs! In just two short weeks, the Cotton District has already smashed records, with over 100 weenie dog sign-ups from across the country. Racers are coming from as far as New York City, Denver, Omaha, San Antonio, and even Minnesota to take part in this tail-wagging extravaganza.
Dubbed the world's largest weenie dog race, this event is set to be the highlight of Mississippi's College Town, drawing in pet lovers, racers, and curious onlookers from far and wide. It's no wonder the Mississippi Tourism Association crowned this the "Best Large Festival" ā it's an event unlike any other.
The big day is set for May 3rd, and the anticipation is growing faster than a weenie dog chasing a chew toy. Whether you're a proud weenie dog owner, a curious bystander, or someone looking for some family-friendly fun, the Cotton District promises to be the place to be.

MSU Spotlight š¾

STARKVILLE, Miss. ā This Saturday, Humphrey Coliseum will be the center of attention as the Mississippi State Bulldogs host their longtime rivals, the Ole Miss Rebels, in a historic matchup. For the first time in their 111-year basketball rivalry, both teams come into the game ranked in the AP poll, adding even more fuel to an already intense showdown.
Mississippi State enters the matchup ranked 15th, boasting a stellar 12-1 non-conference record with wins over #18 Pitt and #21 Memphis. Despite a strong start to SEC play, the Bulldogs are looking to bounce back after two tough losses to #6 Kentucky and #1 Auburn.
On the other side, #21 Ole Miss is riding high after a monumental victory against #4 Alabama earlier this week, holding the Crimson Tide to just 64 points ā a significant drop from their season average of 91.1 points per game.
With a tipoff set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, the rivalry game will air nationally on ESPN2. This is more than just a regular game; itās a battle of pride, history, and bragging rights.
Quick Facts:
Mississippi State leads the all-time series with 150 wins to Ole Missās 120.
Last season, the Bulldogs and Rebels split the series, with the home team winning each game.
Student tickets for Saturdayās game are sold out, but more tickets are available through SeatGeek, MSUās official ticketing partner.
